The car passed the Han River, the Hangang Bridge, N Seoul Tower rising above Namsan, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and the bronze statue of Admiral Yi Sun-sin standing in the plaza. The whole trip looked almost like a sightseeing tour.
But that was exactly the point. According to Grandpa Sunjae, the purpose of the tour was to gather good fortune along the way—so the treasure appraisal would go smoothly and succeed.
At an intersection, a giant screen began broadcasting the day's news:
"Viewers, today's public appraisal event for Uri Korea's Treasure Show is about to reach its climax. What treasures, long buried beneath the dust of history, will emerge before the world today? Which of them may prove worthy of recognition as Korean National Treasures? Stay tuned!"
